Squid http_port 8080

Can anybody tell me what if i have given http_port 8080 on squid is it safe to Linux Gateway? scratch

http_port 8080 configuration is less secured. Because it will open 8080 on all availabe interfaces and start listening. So WAN interface will be also listen to 8080, results, a good change for attack to that port if you are having a static IP on that interface. So in such senarios, use specific LAN interface like http_port 192.168.1.1:8080. Please suggest much more fine tuning in squid configuration...
