rm and tar commands are slow
Hi, I have some application servers of Solarish O.S. In which i will be doing some installation which includes deleteing of 400Mb of data and extracting it from the latest tar file of size 400Mb.
This process gets completed in some servers in 3-5mins, but in some servers it takes around 20mins. What should i do to identify the problem to complete this quickly as between 3-5mins.
The process wise and Hardware wise both the servers are same
and no heavy utilization of process also in both the servers

rm and tar commands are slow
Guys,
I got to know the answer for below problem,
The reason is the file system which is created with Hitachi or from NAS are faster and the File system which are created with Local Disk or Solastice Disk suite are slow compared to Hitachi File system.
That's why the deletion and extraction of tar files was slow.
